Yamadai Mizubabu Environmental Education (YEEE)
Learning circular systems through real-world practice with insects.
Yamadai Mizubabu Environmental Education (YEEE) is an educational initiative that promotes sustainability through resource recycling using black soldier fly larvae (Hermetia illucens). The program provides learning opportunities for a wide range of participants, from children to adults, helping them understand environmental issues and explore practical solutions.
Participants learn how organic waste can be transformed into valuable resources through hands-on activities using black soldier fly larvae. By directly engaging in the recycling process, they experience circular systems not only as scientific concepts but also as practical methods that can be applied in real communities. Activities using the resulting fertilizers and feeds further deepen their understanding of sustainable resource use.
The program also emphasizes collaboration across schools, universities, local communities, and international partners. By connecting local challenges with global perspectives, YEEE offers a distinctive educational model that combines environmental science, practical action, and cross-cultural learning.
